尊敬的各位嘉宾，老师们，亲爱的同学们：

　　昨天在这里，我们隆重举行了建校20周年校庆庆典仪式，来自海内外的数千名嘉宾欢聚一堂、祝福西亚斯走上新的征程。今天，我们又在这里送别2019届毕业生，共同见证你们的人生开启新的篇章。

　　Distinguished guests, teachers, and dear students:

　　Good morning!

　　Yesterday, we held a celebratory ceremony for the 20th anniversary of the founding of the university. Thousands of distinguished guests from home and abroad gathered together to wish Sias on its new journey. Today, we are here to bid farewell to the graduating class of 2019, and to witness the beginning of a new chapter in your life.

　　2015年的那个金秋九月，你们背负行囊、挥别亲友，来到西亚斯，在这里度过了你们人生中最美好的一段时光。那年开学典礼上的点点烛光、你们军训时嘹亮的口号，都仿佛还在昨天。你们曾经在这里播撒了希望，今天终于到了收获的时刻。请允许我代表学校全体领导和教职员工，向你们和你们的家人送上最真挚的祝贺，祝贺你们学成毕业!

　　In September of 2015, you came to Sias University with your bags on your backs, waved goodbye to your relatives and friends, and spent a crucial part of your life here. The loud cheering and slogans at the Opening Ceremony and Candlelight Ceremony of that year all seem to be in the distant past. You once sowed hope here, and today it is time to reap the harvest. Allow me, on behalf of all the leaders and staff of the university, to send you and your families my sincerest congratulations on your graduation!

　　岁月不居，时节如流。西亚斯见证了你们的成长、承载了你们的青春，你们也感受到了西亚斯的发展、社会的变迁。这几年里，学校完成了几件大事：我们的新图书馆整体完工并投入使用；我们的北校区开始了全面建设、伦敦街和外语学院大楼相继落成；学校以引进先进教育理念和实施国际化特色办学，为中美合作交流培养出大量优秀人才所取得的成绩，荣获第三届“美中杰出贡献奖”；学校加入亚太大学交换联盟，并担任理事和中国区主席单位；学校与科大讯飞有限公司签署战略合作协议，率先共建西亚斯讯飞人工智能学院；更重要的是，去年我校通过了教育部全国高校设置委员会专家组的实地评估、正式转设更名。

　　Seasons and years will pass by. Sias has witnessed your growth and your youth, and you have also experienced the development of Sias and changes in society. Over the past few years, the university has accomplished several goals: the completion and full functioning of our new library; the comprehensive construction of the North Campus has begun; London Street and the School of Foreign Language buildings have been completed. With the introduction of advanced educational concepts and the implementation of international characteristics, Sias has made great achievements in nurturing a large number of talents for Sino-US cooperation and exchanges, and won the 3rd 'U.S.-China Outstanding Contribution Award'. Sias University joined the Association of Universities of Asia & the Pacific (AUAP), with the Founder serving as the President from 2014-2016 and currently as the Chairman of the Advisory Council. Sias signed a strategic cooperation agreement with iFLYTEK and led the way in the founding of the iFLYTEK School of Artificial Intelligence. More importantly, last year, our university passed the evaluation of experts from the Ministry of Education and formally changed its name and status.

　　你们不仅是学校这些大事的见证者，更是参与者、记录者，西亚斯的办学历史上，有你们浓墨重彩的一笔！

　　此刻到了依依分别的时刻，作为你们的理事长、作为你们的老朋友，我有几点殷切的寄语：

　　You are not only witnesses to these events at Sias, but also participants in them. You have made a brilliant contribution to the history of Sias.

　　Now that it is time to say goodbye to each other, as your Chairman and old friend, I have some serious advice for you:

　　一是希望你们能够保持终身学习的好习惯。在今天信息爆炸的时代，信息和技能永远在过时的道路上,人的一生只有不断掌握并增强自身的学习能力才能不落后于时代。从今以后，不会再有人要求你按时坐在教室里学习，但是生活的磨砺会教给你们更多课程，你们要仔细牢记每一个知识点。

　　First, I hope that you can make learning a lifelong habit. In today's era of the explosion of information, knowledge and skills are easily outdated. Only by constantly mastering and enhancing one's attitude of learning can one keep up with the demands of the times. From now on, no one will ask you to sit in the classroom and study regularly, but life will teach you more lessons. You should be conscientious about remembering every bit of knowledge.

　　二是希望你们能够拥有迎接未来挑战的勇气。人生中困难是常态，幸福是短暂的，海明威说“勇气就是优雅地面对压力”。从今以后，不会再有人要求你每学期走进考场，但是人生的道路上处处都有试卷，你们要认真答好每一道题。

　　Second, I hope that you will have the courage to meet the challenges of the future. Difficulties in life are normal. Happiness is short. Ernest Hemingway said, 'Courage is grace under pressure.' From now on, no one will ask you to enter an examination room every semester, but there are tests throughout the road of life. You should answer every question carefully.

　　三是希望你们能够把握自己的人生，做命运的主人。高尔基曾经说过：“时间对任何人都是最公平合理的，它从不多给谁一分钟。勤劳的人能叫时间留下丰硕的果实，懒惰者只能让时间留给他们一事无成，两手空空。”从今以后，不会再有人要求你晚上10点半必须回宿舍就寝，但是健康的人生永远是你们最大的财富，你们要按时睡觉、好好吃饭。

　　Third, I hope you can grasp life and be the masters of your destiny. Maxim Gorky once said, 'Time is fair and reasonable for all. It never gives anyone more than one minute at a time. Hard working people can make full use of their time and be fruitful, while lazy people are left with nothing but empty hands.' From now on, no one will ask you to go back to your dormitory at 10:30 p.m., but a healthy lifestyle will be your greatest wealth. You should sleep on time and eat well.

　　四是希望你们能够继续关心母校的建设和发展。从此刻开始，你们的身份从西亚斯的学生变成了西亚斯的校友，你们可以把西亚斯当做永远的家，在你们人生旅途上遇到崎岖坎坷时，欢迎你们回来歇歇脚，就像歌里唱的那样，“带上笑容，带上祝愿，陪同爱人，常回家看看”。

　　Fourth, I hope you will continue to care about the growth and development of your Alma mater. From this moment on, your identity will change from a student of Sias to an alumnus of Sias. You can always regard Sias as your home. When you face difficulties in life, you are most welcome to come back and rest here. As the song says, 'Bring a smile, bring wishes, accompany your spouse, visit your home often.'

　　同学们，美好的大学时光是短暂的，西亚斯为你们营造了优美的环境、安排了充实的学业、提供了广阔的视野，可能在过往的四年中，你们也曾有过迷惘和纠结，但这些都是人生的必经之路，将会使生命更加完整。我很欣慰地看到你们在西亚斯变成了更好的自己，相信你们未来的人生中会充满更多的奇迹和更多的精彩。母校期待着分享你们的成功和喜悦！

　　Students, your time at university is short. Sias has given you a beautiful environment, given you a holistic education, and broadened your horizons. In the past 4 years, you may have been confused or faced dilemmas, but these are situations that everyone must face in life, and they will make you more complete. I am pleased to see that you have become better versions of yourselves at Sias, and I believe that your lives will be filled with wonderful achievements. Sias University is looking forward to sharing in your joys and successes!
